The Screamin' Eagles started the season with a tie against the in conference rival Atlanta Tigers, a win against the Charlotte Power Surge, and a loss against the Premier Conference Tampa Thunder. The team will be competing in Birmingham on Dec. 3 at the Lakeshore Foundation, and will be playing three teams from St. Louis.
The final tournament of the season, the North Georgia Screamin' Eagles won the second annual Georgia Games Power Soccer Championship on July 17 @ the JA Walters YMCA, defeating the Atlanta Tigers 4– 3, and the Charlotte/Carrollton Powernators 3– Nil. The Screamin' Eagles avenged the loss in the first GG Power Soccer Championship to the Tigers in 2010.
The team will take the summer off and start getting ready for the Champions Conference contenders in the US Power Soccer Association's 2011/12 season, which will kick off with the Americas Champions Cup in October, date & site TBA.
The Screamin' Eagles finished the season with a record of 20-7-4. The team made it to the Championship Match in the Presidents Conference Cup Championship held June 24-25, at the Mulberry Creek Community Center, but lost to the GLASA Chicago Fire. By finishing 2nd in conference, the team will move up to play in the Champions Conference next season.
The Screamin' Eagles finished in 3rd place at the Southeastern League Championship at the MCCC on Saturday, May 14, 2011. With a record of 14– 6– 3, undefeated in the Presidents Conference, the team will be playing for and hosting the Presidents Conference Cup Championship on June 24-25, at the Mulberry Creek Community Center. Download the schedule of events and make plans to attend.
